Mona Al-Soudi

She devoted her life to a long dialogue with stone, and her abstract sculptures read as silent poems about land, fertility and life. Born in Amman in 1945, near the Ammonite and Nabataean remains that shaped her early relationship with stone, she studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the 1960s and lived in Beirut until her death in 2022. Her work has been exhibited across the Arab world, Europe, the United States and Asia, and is held in major institutional and museum collections, including the British Museum in London, the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris and the Sharjah Art Foundation.
